Oleg Gazmanov, a singer, a composer and a father himself, is actively involved in the UNICEF programmes in Russia. His visits to children’s institutions supported by UNICEF are always a source of enormous joy for children. Oleg supports assistance programmes for children left without parental care, including street children and HIV-affected children.

Oleg Gazmanov also participates in press-conferences and other events aimed at raising public awareness of children-related problems. In 2006, Oleg was the face of the campaign “I care about every child. And what about you?” (see the campaign's homepage). The campaign's principal goal was to change public attitudes toward HIV-affected children. Today, such children are often stigmatized, and public attitudes often pose a greater threat for them than the virus as such. In 2007, Oleg Gazmanov also took part in a film focusing on this problem. The film shows how difficult it is to overcome existing stereotypes, while not a single case has been reported of HIV-transmission from a child to another child when they play or study together. Participation of Oleg Gazmanov and other well-known personalities in media campaigns makes it easier to overcome unjustified fears and gives hope to such children enabling them to lead a normal and full life.
