16 October: International conference “A family – for every child” was held in SaratovMore than 600 Russian and foreign experts participated an international conference “A family for every child” in Saratov. The conference was organized by the Russian Children in Need Fund, UNICEF and government of Saratov region. This is the third international conference on the issue of priority of family for a child, which was held in Russia since 2008. The first conference was organized in Moscow in December 2008, the second one – in Novosibirsk. Representatives of federal and regional authorities, foreign experts from UK, USA, Greece and Norway, child ombudspersons, NGOs and other specialists participated the conference. Today in Russia there are about 740 000 children living without parental care. According to official statistics, 83% of them have at least one parent alive. UNICEF has presented key messages of the document named “A family – for every child’ based on UNICEF researches and surveys.
