June 25: International Conference “A Childhood Without Cruelty and Abuse" in MoscowOn June 25, the International Research and Training Conference “A Childhood Without Cruelty and Abuse: Protection and Assistance” was held in Moscow organized by the Russian Fund for Children in Difficult Circumstances jointly with the National Foundation for Protection of Children Against Abuse with the participation of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The goal of the conference is to familiarize experts and decision-makers with the Russian and foreign practices to ensure and uphold child rights accumulated over the last 20 years, as well as present the latest innovative models, approaches and technologies in this area. Bertrand Bainvel, UNICEF Representative in the Russian Federation, addressed the conference participants with an opening statement.
