"I am involved in this project in the capacity of a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. This is an international project with a lot of participating countries. Such a global partnership enables people of good will to get engaged in the search for solutions to the most pressing humanitarian problems in the world. Through our participation in international humanitarian projects, we do not only assist the most vulnerable and needy people, but also contribute to the enhancement of the authority of our country in the eyes of the international community. Today, we cannot stay away from the need to address the world’s humanitarian problems. Russia is a strong state, and God and our conscience tell us to come to the rescue of people on different continents. Above all, thanks to such projects as the joint UNICEF-Pampers project “One Pack-One Vaccine”, every one of us can participate in international humanitarian activities. Through our cash contributions, we promote the right of every person to life, no matter where he or she resides. During my recent trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo, I came to the conclusion that in our common world, we cannot be indifferent to other people’s misfortunes; everything seems to be closely interrelated. My task is to draw the attention of public, state and business community to the most urgent humanitarian issues, which are being addressed by UNICEF and its partners in this country and all over the world".
