Many times, when I think of my childhood years, I remember all the obstacles I had to overcome in order to accomplish my dream of becoming a football player. There were moments of frustration when I thought my only escape was working harder and harder. Talent wasn’t enough. I needed support and eventually it came. There were moments of despair which I overcome but which I will never forget. Every morning I see my children smiling and this fills me with joy. They have a carefree childhood. They are happy. I keep on telling them that not every child is like them. My desire is that they understand we have to help those in need. This is why I accepted to support the UNICEF cause in Romania. Children have the right to dream. My children’s smile is the best gift that God has given me!
