Facing children - international film festival

The second edition of the Facing Children International Film Festival is being held between November 14-19, 2007, organized by SIGNIS ROMÂNIA and UNICEF.

The festival includes three sections:
• films on social themes, followed by debates
• one minute films made by children
• a symposium on children and communication through art, organized by UNICEF

The program includes fiction movies awarded in other international film festivals, such as: Rosetta by Jean Luc Dardenne, (Palme d'Or), At Five In the Afternoon by Samira Makhmalbaf (Jury Award at Cannes Film Festival and Ecumenical Jury Award), Tsotsi (Oscar for the best foreign film) and 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 days by Cristian Mungiu (2007 Palme d'Or).

On Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18 there will be a presentation of documentaries on the rights of the child. During the symposium organized by UNICEF, children will present films made by them.

The Festival is organized in partnership with the Sociology Faculty in Bucharest and the Federation of NGOs for Child Protection and is supported by the National Authority for the Protection of Child’s Rights.
