Champions with our supportOn Friday, November 2, 2007, we invite you to join us in Arad, where Motivation Foundation will organize an event – “Champions with our Support” – in partnership with UNICEF Romania and the Arad General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Care. From 4 p.m., 10 children with disabilities and 20 gendarmes will participate in a “Torch Run”; the race will start in front of the Arad County Council and finishing at the County Sports Hall. At the Sports Hall, the “Break the Barriers” team will perform sportive dance, and the representatives of the Center for Recovery and Rehabilitation for Children with Disabilities will show the public a number of special physical exercises. Paula Seling will grace the event with a special performance. The event is part of an awareness and information campaign on children and grown-ups with disabilities, which was developed to increase the visibility and awareness of these persons in community life. The main goals of this campaign are widening the acknowledgement of the abilities of children with special needs, increasing the authorities’ involvement in awareness campaigns, and influencing and improving the populations’ attitude through activities designed to increase knowledge on the lives of people with disabilities. Similar events will take place in Roman, Neamt County, on November 6, 2007, and in Bacau on November 7, 2007.
