CHAD November  14 - 18 Week of events for the CRC@20 – a series of events including media for children event, photo and drawings event, UNICEF open days, the rights of child refugees at Goz-Beida Camp, and an official celebration under the Chairmanship of the First Lady
EQUATORIAL GUINEA  November 17 - 18  Children’s rights and the Family - The opening exposition on “Children and Their Rights.” Following by a Round Table on the family in Equatoguinean society, alternative methods for orphans and vulnerable children, and family and social protection. This includes presentations by Leonor Epam Biribe, State Secretary of Social Affairs and the Promotion of Women; Teresa Avoro, CNDN; Eduardo Rodriguez, UNICEF; and representatives from SOS Children and other national NGOs.

EQUATORIAL GUINEA    November 20  20th Anniversary Commemoration— Event with the participation of children, Government officials and CSOs including presentations by the Director of the French Cultural Center, the President of CNDN, a UNICEF’s representative and exhibitions ( a sketch of the Rights of a Child, performances by different  schools, Children’s choir, singers Nélida and Anfibio ), a presentation of the “Four Basic Behaviors: hand washing, breast feeding, oral rehidratation salt, and mosquito nets” and road safety. 
EQUATORIAL GUINEA   November 21  Youth Soccer Tournament – Within the framework of UNICEF’s  Sport for Development activities, this tournament will count with the participation of the Nigerian School, the Spanish School, Future Expectations and others supported  by the Women Soccer National Squad players (Nzalang) emphasizing tolerance, social inclusion, gender equity and participation .

LIBERIA  November 21  Liberia’s first children’s festival commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of
the Child (
CRC@20) - The chief guest is H.E. Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, and about 10,000 participants are expected to take part in the event, including 8,000 children from the greater Monrovia.
Simultaneously, around 30,000 children will take part in activities in the counties.

MALI November 11 - 20 Lecture Series – a weekly series of 5 lectures and discussions on different aspects of child rights at the University of Bamako and the “Le Centre d’Information et de Ressources Documentaires du Système des Nations Unies”
MALI November 11 - 20 National Forum – a high level national forum to discuss the progress, challenges and how to move forward in Mali with the implementation of the CRC
MAURITANIA November 7 - 20 Drawing & Poetry Contest – a contest on child rights and the CRC
MAURITANIA November 7 - 20 Youth Advocacy Forum – a series of theater, animation, and peer awareness sessions on child rights across the country
MAURITANIA November 20 Official Ceremony – a ceremony to commemorate the 20th anniversary including the participation of religious and traditional leaders, parliamentarians, mayors and journalists
NIGER November 20 Concert - a concert at the Franco-Nigerian Cultural Center (CNBC), launched by the UNICEF Representative and the Minister of Women Promotion + Protecting Children.
NIGER November 20 Football Tournament – a tournament where the teams of children will wear T-shirts promoting children's rights, and the awards ceremony will be attended by the UNICEF France Ambassador
NIGER November 20  Painting Exhibition – an exhibition of the finest paintings produced by eight selected schools (one school per region)
NIGERIA   October 14 - 15 Enugu State: Child parliamentarians from 10 states in south east Nigeria sat in a special CRC@20 zonal session to assess the child rights journey so far, identify gaps at the zonal level and propose how to address them.
NIGERIA  November 14  Launch of a 13-part radio series on the national network of Radio Nigeria produced by and featuring children abandoned by their families after being dubbed witches. This series is to be followed in the New Year by another 13-part radio programme made by street children in Lagos, who tell their stories in English, Pidgin and Yoruba. 
NIGERIA  November 20  Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria: national celebration of the CRC@20 combined with launch of SOWC special edition. Led by Federal Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, hosted by Governor of Cross River State, with interventions by Child Parliamentarians and child rights activists from 10 states. 
NIGERIA  November 21  Unicef and Ecowas are hosting a joint film night in celebration of the CRC@20 in the WCARO and Ecowas countries. MCeed by the Speaker  of the Federal Capital Territory's Children's Parliament, it will bring together decision-makers, diplomats, donors, and civil society actors in an evening that exlores how children can use media to realize their right to self expression -- and their other rights.
SENEGAL November 18 National TV Debate – a debate on the rights of the child broadcast on TV and film presentation of  Les Droits de L’enfant: l’ Urgence d’un Bonheur
SENEGAL November 20 Art Exhibition – an exhibition on the Rights of the Child
SENEGAL November 21 Launch of SOWC & Event for Children – the launch of the report plus events and activities with children and youth on the theme of ending violence against children
SIERRA LEONE November 20 National Public Forum and Musical Concert – a traditional parade of children marking the anniversary, followed by a public forum and musical concert in collaboration with Artists for Peace. In Freetown a large event is planned with government representatives, state actors and partners.
SIERRA LEONE November 20 Photo Exhibition – a exhibition of photos about children’s rights will travel around the country to schools and community centers in each of the 12 districts, and include a follow-up discussion among the children and their community leaders in promotion of their rights.
SIERRA LEONE November 20  Drama Competition – a inter–schools drama competition between eights schools that will develop and perform a complete dramatic skit from a treatment on a child rights theme. Winning performances will be played on community radios and the top rated performance will be aired on national radio.
SIERRA LEONE November 20 Launch of SOWC – the launch of the State of the World’s Children including an editors’ lunch and a press conference
SIERRA LEONE November 20 World Day of Prayer for Children – the Inter-Religious Council will lead a programme of Muslim Prayers on Friday, November 20 and Christian Prayers on Sunday, November 22.
 TOGO TBC “The Planet is ours” - youth and children from NGO will direct a TV program on the CRC
WCARO REGIONAL OFFICE Septemeber Social Policy Publications/ Advocacy - various planned documents (more than 30) could be branded on website to celebrate 20 years of CRC
