Only estimates exist, but at least 250 million children work for a living in developing countries, nearly half of them full time. At least 60 million children worldwide are exploited under extreme forms of child labour such as debt bondage and prostitution. Child labour is a human rights violation on many different levels. A result and also a cause of poverty, child labour is a prison that withers both capabilities and potential. Beyond Child Labour shows how UNICEF and its major partners are working to end child labour. Child labour can and must be consigned to history.
