This summary assesses progress made by member and observer countries of the International Organization of la Francophonie since the UN Special Session on Children in May 2002. It highlights plans of action and strategies adopted by these countries to improve children’s well-being over the course of this decade. The summary also covers the situation of children in Francophonie countries, particularly in four priority areas: promoting healthy lives; providing quality education; protecting against abuse, exploitation and violence; and combating HIV/AIDS.
