Advocacy campaign on mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies

In 2007, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee issued Guidelines on mental health and psychosocial support in emergency settings to enable humanitarian actors to plan, establish and coordinate a set of minimum responses to protect and improve people’s mental health and psychosocial well-being in the midst of an emergency.

Launched in 2010, the advocacy campaign on mental health and psychosocial support in emergencies encourages all humanitarian actors and United Nations Member States affected by or at risk of emergencies to embrace and implement the inter-agency standing committee guidelines and highlights the progress made by countries that implement them.
