Immunization: Reaching the last 20% in Djibouti

Beyond the last paved road, camels are the natural choice of transport for immunization campaigns targeted at hard-to-reach populations in countries such as Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa. Nomadic tribes have fled to remote mountains following years of civil war. Here a mobile team braves blistering temperatures and inhospitable desert terrain to bring life-saving vaccines to women and children at high health risk.
