There are few accurate statistics on two of the worst and most widespread violations of children's rights - child prostitution and child labour.

The number of under-18s involved in prostitution probably exceeds 2 million. Best estimates suggest a figure of 1 million for Asia alone - and 300,000 for the United States.

ILO data for 124 nations indicate a total of nearly 80 million children under 15 involved in child labour. The total for all nations may be double that figure.
