Children of the City Photo Contest
Calling all budding photographers! We are inviting aspiring photographers under 18 years old to join UNICEF Philippines “Children of the City” Facebook contest on www.facebook.com/unicefphilippines. As UNICEF launches its 2012 State of the World’s Children Report, themed Children in an Urban World, we would like to invite children (any person below 18) living in cities in the Philippines to submit a photo depicting a pressing issue that their city faces or a good initiative that is helping children in their city. Photo submissions must be in JPG format with a maximum of 1MB in file size. Along with the picture, indicate name, age and city that the photographer lives in, together with a short narrative of why you think this is a problem or good practice in your city. All entries will be submitted to the League of Cities President Mayor Oscar Rodriguez to submit to the appropriate City Mayor. The winning entry will be judged according to: 1. most number of likes on Facebook 2. most number of votes by UNICEF staff. The winner will receive a pack containing UNICEF souvenirs and a A Journey with Children coffee table book of Filipino city children (see http://ajourneywithchildren.com/) featuring the photographs of UNICEF photographer Giacomo Pirozzi.
