When
work is about dreams coming to life
In the book, "The
Prophet", Kahlil Gibran talks about work and realization
of dreams:
"But I say
to you that when you work,
you fulfill a part of earth's furthest dream,
assigned to you when that dream was born,
and in keeping yourself with labor,
you are in truth loving life,
and to love life through labor
is to be intimate with life's inmost secret."
If this is how
work is defined, I then believe that the VIP 2005 is hard
at work, that we are working for a dream, and that we are
embracing life. There is purpose in what we are doing. There
are dreams coming to life.
I am still a student
and my resources are few but to help is to find ways one can
reach out to others. UNICEF gave me this opportunity and now,
my summer has a meaning.
We may still be
chasing our dreams but our hopes will never fade.
