Johnson & Johnson

Johnson & Johnson is an international manufacturer of consumer healthcare products and services.

For a child to be properly armed for the challenges of the world, it is imperative that the mother has access to proper healthcare, exposure to effective parenting practices, has access to adequate nutrition and is protected against diseases. 

Since 2004, the partnership with J&J has helped improve the lives of women and children in the provinces of Aurora, Isabela, Capiz and Eastern Samar.  The project has two components: basic emergency obstetric care and early childhood care and development. Since its inception, the project has upgraded the capacity of health facilities in Basic Emergency & Obstetric Care (BEmOC). 

Partnership milestones

  • Access to basic maternal and child health services has become readily available for the residents of these provinces
  • J&J’s financial assistance has been used to procure BemOC supplies, reproduce mother and child parenting booklets, and train health care teams via an 11-day BemOC skills course
  • A total of 39 communities from Aurora, Capiz, Manila and Pasay now have access to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for 3-5 year old children.
  • J&J also provides soaps during emergency relief efforts
