WHO?
We are reaching out to you to support our Days of Peace campaign for service delivery to children. UNICEF has secured commitments from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), Joint Coordination Committee for the Cessation of Hostilities (JCCH), Department of Health, Council for the Welfare of Children, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Bangsamora Development Agency, the International Monitoring Team, Act for Peace Program, and others.

WHAT?
All sides will join hands and unite to reach children in communities that are hardly ever reached by vital services like vaccination against preventable diseases, vitamin supplementation, provision of school materials, screening of pregnant mothers, control of malaria and tuberculosis.

WHEN?
16-30 April, June and October

WHERE?
Starting from Cotabato City in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and moving to over 500 barangays currently included by the ceasefire agreemen in Central Mindanao.

WHY?
An International Monitoring Team is helping to secure a ceasefire in the most conflict prone zones of Mindanao. As the two sides work through the details of a permanent peace, in children in over 500 communities wait for the vital health and education services which they need to survive, grow, and develop. The vision is simple: put aside differences, unite to connect with children in need, and deliver life-saving services.

HOW?
UNICEF has brought together a unique team consisting of government donors, UN agencies, and MILF parties. Everyone has signed on enthusiastically. Right now, survey are being completed to identify the children most in need of help. In April, all sides will join together to cross battle lines and reach children who have been cut off for so long. It will start with vaccination and as confidence builds, we will add more and more to the outreach.

Make peace a reality.
