Child
pornography is a complex problem that cannot be addressed
by a single agency. It requires the concerted efforts of various
agencies, including government, non-governmental organizations,
private sector, faith-based groups, media, communities, and
families.
UNICEF
took the initial step to address the problem of child pornography
in the Philippines by commissioning the UPCIDS to conduct
on a study on child pornography in the country. This study
gives us more in-depth knowledge of the phenomenon and it
will serve as an input for developing activities against child
pornography. What is important is to increases the awareness
about child pornography and understanding of its consequences
to children and their development.
UNICEF
has extensive experience in working on the issue of commercial
sexual exploitation of children and it has created a comprehensive
programme against abuse, exploitation and trafficking of children,
which covers prevention, protection and rehabilitation and
reintegration. UNICEF will help address child pornography
in this programme.
Keep
children safe from the claws of pornography.
Help us urge our lawmakers to pass
an Anti-Child Pornography Bill.
