Unfortunately,
we do not know exactly how many children in the Philippines
have been or are being exploited in child pornography. However,
the interviews and review of secondary data show that child
pornography exists in the Philippines and the problem is real
and serious.
Another way of looking at the magnitude of child pornography
is to consider its lasting and complex negative effects, especially
psychological harm, on children who have been involved in
pornography.
Child
pornography is a billion-dollar business worldwide. It is
closely tied with prostitution. In the Philippines, prostitution
is said to be becoming the country's fourth largest source
of Gross National Product (GNP).
Keep
children safe from the claws of pornography.
Help us urge our lawmakers to pass
an Anti-Child Pornography Bill.
