Young people in the Philippines are at high risk for HIV/AIDS infection: about 23 per cent of youth engage in premarital sexual intercourse. Of these, 35 per cent have had more than one sex partner, and only 25 per cent use contraception. Most disturbing is that 73 per cent of young people believe they could never get HIV/AIDS, and 28 per cent believe it is curable. UNICEF works with the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National AIDS Council, NGOs, and youth groups on:
