Media advocacy and mobilization
• Kabataan (Youth) News Network – video news packages, shot and narrated by children, was uploaded weekly on the KNN website
• Print and broadcast journalists were trained in child rights-sensitive journalism
• Baseline studies on children and media were conducted
• Media forum was held to broaden understanding of the Juvenile Justice Welfare Act
Child rights advocacy and participation
• Organized the First South East Asian Children’s Conference
• Supported a 7-part video teleconference dialogue (“PeaceTech”) on peace-building and fostering understanding among Christian and Muslim youth
• In partnership with the Music Television (MTV), organized the MTV Music Summit for HIV and AIDS yearly, with tens of thousands of young people in attendance
• Supported a peace conference in Mindanao with participants from all faiths and ethnic groups
Communication for behaviour change
• Trained health workers in interpersonal communication skills through an academic training regimen
• Developed and carried out a national communication campaign on avian and human influenza
• Developed the skills of local government workers on effective communication campaign planning
