Safeguard Brand Manager Maimai Madrid, P&G Country Relations External Manager Jamie Endaya, UNICEF Representative Vanessa Tobin and Private Fundraising and Partnerships Chief Michelle Borromeo seal a partnership for clean hands and better health.

In the Philippines, the private sector plays a significant and growing role in the fight for children’s rights. The involvement and support of corporate social responsibility (CSR) arms of major corporations in UNICEF programmes provide a mutually beneficial relationship. Apart from providing avenues to create awareness for children’s rights to the public and the companies’ own employees, private sector initiatives also enhance a brand’s corporate identity. Major private sector initiatives in the country include Starbucks’ Sparkhope, SM Supermalls’ Drink For 2, Safeguard’s Global Handwashing Day, GMA Kapuso Foundation’s Lusog Linis Kids and Barclay's Conditional Cash Transfer scheme with DSWD, among others.
