2008 • October • At the Town Hall in New York, Lang Lang announced the launch of his new foundation and gave a special performance for children.  (Newsline)

2007 • April • In China, Lang Lang announced the launch of his own line of pianos in Beijing’s main Steinway & Sons showroom. Proceeds from the auction of the first ‘Lang Lang’ piano benefited UNICEF’s programmes for young people affected by AIDS in China’s Yunan Province.  (Newsline)

2005 • December • In Beijing, China, Lang Lang participated in the launch of the ‘Driving Dreams’ project, between UNICEF and car manufacturer Audi. The project was created to bring life-skills and sports activities to some 30,000 out-of-school children in over 150 poor villages across western China.  (Newsline)

2005 • May • In Tokyo, Japan, Lang Lang held a piano recital dedicated to the numerous Japanese citizens who have lent their support to UNICEF over the years. He also shared his experiences on being a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.  (Newsline)

2004 • December • In Berlin, Germany, Lang Lang launched the UNICEF flagship publication, State of the World’s Children 2005.

2004 • August • In Tanzania, Lang Lang raised awareness about the fight against malaria. In Rundugai village he participated in village health day activities, and awarded insecticide treated nets to mothers and children who have maintained excellent health records.  (Press release)
