Project Officer Health (Polio)
Mandate of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential.
Position:
UNICEF Pakistan requires the services of Project Officer Health (Polio) for its office in Quetta.
Major duties and responsibilities:
• Collect and assemble data and background information with regards to PEI and provide updated information on programme/project financial and administrative status for analysis and reports purposes. Analyze programme project status and recommend appropriate adjustments. Prepare table, graphs or other statistical data for technical review/monitoring purposes after every round.
• Pay field visits to high risk/other districts for participation in/or observation of PEI activities. Prepare routine reports on results of visits.
• Prepare and implement communication (advocacy & social mobilization) and training plans in coordination with provincial, district government and other partners.
• Assist and coordinate with WHO/provincial EPI Cell in the preparation of PEI micro-plans for NID/SNID/mop-up campaigns.
• Assist and coordinate in the PEI budgeting, distribution of funds and collection of accounts from the implementing partners.
• Collect and record information on PEI related logistics inventory, its distribution and utilization.
• Coordinate all PEI activities at provincial, district and sub district levels and update the supervisor.
• Monitor the activities of DSOs, District Health Communication Officers and Social mobilization.
• Assist provincial and district health teams for strengthening routine immunization activities including immunization campaigns.
• Other duties as they may be assigned by the supervisor
Educational Qualification:
Degree in Public Health, medicine or social sciences or equivalent professional work experience in the public health area. Knowledge of latest development and approaches to Health/Nutrition.
Experience:
One year professional work progressive experience at PEI programme or other public health programme in programme management, monitoring and evaluation.

Written and Spoken Language Skills:
Fluency in written and spoken English required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
