Programme Communication Officer, IslamabadMandate of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to enable them to reach their full potential. • Contribute to development of communication strategies for BCC of immunization, support the development, designing, pre-testing & production of culturally relevant communication materials. Follow-up on the production of communication materials (e.g. IPC materials, audio-visual assignments, and advocacy material etc.), and oversee the qualitative aspects of production, e.g. quality control, translation, review of layout and graphic design and report outcome to supervisor. Coordinate with the HR Section to engage media agencies for the development of communication materials and with the Supply Section for production and distribution of the same. • In collaboration and coordination with counterparts, partners, federal, and provincial offices as well as district teams, plan, organize and document advocacy, community mobilization and training events and provide support in selection of materials and preparation of training modules and curricula as well as implementation of communication training for government counterparts and other partners. • Assists in planning and coordination of communication research for related issues in consultation with PME Section. • Monitor implementation of communication activities for immunization and other relevant issues by reviewing progress and identifying constraints through field visits, consultation with government counterparts, community6 and UNICEF staff. • Attend technical cooperation meetings, prepare notes and undertake follow-up actions related to implementation of the communication activities. • Coordinate with Advocacy and Communication Section for update on project achievements and media briefs. • Plan and prepare for the emergency situation. • Any other assignment as assigned by supervisor.
