Tender Notice: Construction of Transitional Shelters

UNICEF Pakistan is planning to construct Transitional Shelters (TS) for schools in earthquake affected areas in AJK and NWFP. Tenders are invited from the construction companies experienced in the “Pre-Fabricated” structures. UNICEF intends to construct TS units grouped in the following two lots:

Lot TS1  approximately 300 units in NWFP
Lot TS2  approximately 245 units in AJK

Only the companies are eligible to participate in the tender meeting the following requirements. 
• Have adequate manufacturing facilities and installation teams.
• Have executed similar construction projects, using pre-fabricated metal structures, which have combined total value of a minimum of Pak Rs. 80 million during the period of last three years.
• Strong financial background
• Are not disqualified from participation to bid by any organization.

The prospective bidders are required to drop sealed tenders in the tender box placed in the reception at the above address on or before 1100 hours, 07 May 2008. Late tenders will be rejected. The tenders will be opened on the same day at the same place at 1130 hours. Only one representative will be allowed to attend during bid opening.
