Ethical Terms: Guide for HIV and AIDS

The Pakistan National AIDS Control Programme, UNICEF and UNAIDS have compiled a set of principles of using HIV and AIDS-related language and appropriate terms to guide our partners in their development of HIV programming, training and advocacy and educational material.

The terms grew out of existing documentation and ethical language as well as common terms used in Pakistan in reference to HIV and AIDS. The terms were then work-shopped with Pakistani media and People Living with HIV and AIDS (PALWHAs).
