Regional Partners
Introduction
UNICEF Pacific Office works with partners at regional and national levels. Regional partners include the Pacific Island News Association (PINA), members of the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific (CROP), namely, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), Fiji School of Medicine (FSchM), Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC), University of the South Pacific (USP) and South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment (SPBEA).
Pacific Islands New Association (PINA)
PINA is a regional media organisation with members based in 21 Pacific Island countries and territories. PINA’s members are radio and TV stations, newspapers, magazines and national organisations of journalists and news media practitioners.

Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS)
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, formerly the South Pacific Forum, is the region’s premier political and economic policy organization. Based in Fiji, it acts as the Secretariat for Forum and other related events, implements decisions taken by leaders, facilitates the delivery of developmental assistance to its member states and undertakes the political and legal mandates of Forum meetings.

Fiji School of Medicine (FSchM)
FSM is the principal medical institute in the South Pacific educating Health Care Professionals since its establishment in 1885 as Suva Medical School to train vaccinators.
The institute has produced motivated and skilled health care professionals for the Pacific including several notable professionals serving in Pacific and overseas.
UNICEF Pacific has collaborated with FSchM and other partners to undertake the “Steps Survey” in the area of Nutrition in the Solomon Islands and also to conduct a workshop on Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV and AIDS (PMTCT).

Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC)
A regional organisation, the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) works in partnership with its members, other organisations and donors to deliver priority work programmes to member countries and territories.
SPC's work programmes aim to develop:
- technical assistance,
- professional, scientific and research support,
- planning and management capability building.
SPC works with UNICEF in the areas of Adolescent Health and Development, Communication.

University of the South Pacific (USP)The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier provider of tertiary education in the Pacific region and an international centre of excellence for teaching, research consulting and training on all aspects of Pacific culture, environment and human resource development needs.
http://www.usp.ac.fj South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment (SPBEA)The South Pacific Board for Educational Assessment (SPBEA) provides quality education assessment information and research to Pacific Islands.
Its mission is to deliver Quality Assessment Assistance to the Pacific Islands; establish a Centre for Assessment Information and Research in the Pacific Islands; and take a leading role in the review of the assessment systems in the Pacific Islands.
UNICEF works with SPBEA in the areas of early child development and education.
