International Children's Day of Broadcasting (ICDB)
March 7, 2010 The media is one of the most widely recognised ways to reach children and young people. Radio and TV broadcasters have the responsibility to highlight issues that children and young people face. International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) was created to give exposure to the issue of children’s rights. Over the years, it also has become a day of celebrating children and young people in the media. By giving them media skills and putting their voices on the air, other children and young people will know that they, too, can have a voice. On Sunday, 7 March 2010, radio and television broadcasters in the Pacific will celebrate ICDB and highlight programming by, for and about children with the theme All Rights, All Children For more information on ICDB and ideas on what you can do as a broadcaster, child or young person please visit www.unicef.org/icdb
