Projects under the Family and Child Care and Development Programme
Project 1: Child and Adolescent Health and Nutrition
The project aims to augment the quality of maternal and child health and to boost access to healthcare facilities through capacity building for neonatal resuscitation & paediatric life support and counseling services for young people; policy and strategy development for combating protein-energy malnutrition in children under 5, iron deficiency, universal salt iodization.
Project 2: Childhood Care and Education
The main focus of this project has been to investigate means of developing basic education in order to enhance facilities and services afforded to children with disabilities. The project has responded to the needs of children with disability by ensuring that adequate care and support is provided through improved services in schools, and their integration in schools. It has contributed to identifying and addressing gaps in service delivery for disabled children, particularly deaf and blind children in order to enhance the quality of education and to better their livelihoods.
