Defense for Children International (DCI) - Palestine Section
Established in 1992, Defence for Children International/Palestine Section (DCI/PS) is affiliated with the Geneva-based Defence for Children International, which hasconsultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, UNICEF, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe. Though affiliated with an international network, DCI/PS is an independent, Palestinian non-governmental organization, which develops its programs and acts according to Palestinian children's needs and Palestinian priorities. DCI/PS is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of Palestinian children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip - as articulated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as well as in other international human rights instruments.

With the support of UNICEF the Center organizes psychosocial emergency response teams in each governorate of the Gaza Strip. The teams are ready to mobilize to provide psychosocial support - bot individual and in a group - to children and their families following violent events. In addition, the Center conducts a series of sensitization sessions to increase caregivers' capacity to detect signs of stress among children. About 50,000 children will be reached through sessions for 10,000 caregivers (parents and teachers).

Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS)
Established in 1968, the Palestine Red Crescent Society is a national humanitarian society that provides a wide range of health, social and other humanitarian services for the Palestinian People throughout the Middle East. PRCS is an observer member in the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In the West Bank, the PRCS works with UNICEF in conducting a series of sensitization sessions in eight districts - aimed at increasing caregivers' capacity to detect signs of stress among children and to provide them with appropriate support. The sessions also help parents and teachers deal with their own stress. About 6,000 children and 1,400 parents and teachers benefit.

Palestinian Counseling Centre
Established in 1983 by a group of psychologists, educators and community activists, the PCC is a community based counseling and consultancy organization that advocates for positive mental health and well being for the Palestinians in oPt through the provision of quality care and capacity building. The PCC also works with UNICEF in building the capacity of animators and volunteers in safe play areas. These areas provide children with opportunities to play and interact with peers and to participate creatively in their communities.
