There are various projects that are implemented or supported by the GNC, all of which aim to further the objectives, strategic priorities and work plan of the GNC to ensure an appropriate nutrition response in emergencies that is predictable, timely, effective and at scale.

| Support to the GNC through provision of global level cluster coordination training and surge capacity for rapid response | |
| Purpose | To increase GNC's partner understanding of cluster coordination and partner's role in the nutrition cluster as well as to increase the surge capacity of the GNC for emergencies |
| Outcome | 1) GNC partners have been trained in nutrition cluster coordination; 2) Prompt response is available for disasters through the deployment of trained nutrition cluster coordinators within 72 hours to coordinate the nutrition response; |

| Workshop on strengthening IYCF programming and planning for emergency preparedness and response | |
| Purpose | To hold a highly participatory and interactive workshop that will reflect experiences, challenges and agreed next steps on IYCF and IYCF-E |
| Outcome | 1) A workshop is carried out on IYCF and IYCF-E programming where participants are familiar with and understand the latest evidence on IYCF and IYCF-E interventions, resources, practical aspects of delivering interventions, monitoring systems and outcomes. 2) Individual and NGO action plans are developed for IYCF and IYCF-E programming and capacity strengthening. 3) Gaps and needs are identified, and follow-up capacity building events, next steps and support needs are discussed and agreed. 4) Commitment from Donors, UN and NGOs on IYCF and IYCF-E programming is increased. |

| Nutrition in Emergencies training project | |
| Purpose | To develop a NiE training for humanitarian workers on nutrition in emergencies using the 21 HTP modules. |
| Outcome | 1. Updated NiE Training Package materials. 2. Country level trainings are prepared for and facilitated, with reports written after each training in South Sudan, Somalia, Yemen and Afghanistan. 3. A summary report of the training and lessons learned for the all countries submitted. 4. Revised NiE Training Package based on feedback from the field and the summary report conclusions submitted to the GNC-CT. |

| Nutrition Cluster Handbook project | |
| Purpose | To develop a Nutrition Cluster Handbook. |
| Outcome | 1. A comprehensive outline of the cluster handbook is developed, shared and endorsed by the cluster partners and country cluster coordinator. 2. All relevant and agreed upon chapters are developed, reviewed for quality and consistency and comments are appropriately incorporated nto the first draft. 3. A review of the available draft material is facilitated in the context of the Global Cluster Meeting (March 2011) and documented. 4. A consensus building meeting/feedback with partners on the cluster handbook is conducted and documented. 5. Summary documentation of feedback/issues/responses received through the development process |
