International Launch of Say Yes for Children

Who: - Young campaigners from selected countries, such as Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kenya, South Africa, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

What: International launch of Say Yes for Children - A massive global pledging campaign to register world opinion on issues crucial to children.

Why: An unprecedented global campaign on behalf of children, led by an array of international organisations and personalities including Nelson Mandela, Kofi Annan and Bill Gates, begins today in London and numerous other locations worldwide. The Say Yes for Children campaign will enable young people, adults, leaders, celebrities and people of influence all over the world to sign a pledge, distributed both on paper and via the Internet, to express support for 10 actions essential to improving the lives of children everywhere. The world's pledges will be presented to national leaders at the UN Special Session on Children in September. The pledges will alert political leaders that the world wants change for children.
