> Avian and Pandemic Influenza
UNICEF continues to be the lead technical agency supporting the government to implement communication component of its National Avian and Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response Plan. UNICEF works with governments and partners on communication and other preventive measures to educate individual and families to protect themselves from illness and death caused by pandemic and avian influenza. The core areas of support range from supporting the formulating focused communication response, developing messages according to the needs of targeted audiences, IEC materials development, implementation of interpersonal communication activities and promotion of key messages through mass media.
