Myanmar observes Nutrition Promotion Month August 2012

In 2012 Mynmar observes National Nutrition Month for the tenth consecutive year and world Breastfeeding Week for twenty first years. The theme of the year is: ‘Understanding the past, planning for the future.’

Each of the four weeks of the Nutrition Promotion Month has an unique theme for observance: 1) Breastfeeding Week; 2) Nutrition Promotion week for under-five children; 3) Nutrition promotion week for pregnant and lactating women and 4) The week for elimination of iodine deficiency disorders.
