UNICEF Mozambique launches new web site in Portuguese
A useful information tool for professionals, students and journalists
Maputo, Mozambique, 12 March 2007 – UNICEF Mozambique launched its new web site in Portuguese today, offering over a hundred web pages of information and data on the socio-economic situation of children in Mozambique.
The website also describes UNICEF’s work in the areas of child survival, education, HIV/AIDS, and protection and offers an inside view into the lives of children in Mozambique. The Portuguese version of the web site will complement the English version, which was launched two years ago.
“I’m pleased that this content is finally available in Portuguese on the internet,” said the Head of UNICEF in Mozambique Leila Pakkala. “We hope that this will become an important resource for anyone interested in the well-being and development of Mozambican children.”
The web site is a useful information tool for development professionals, students and the general public on children’s issues in Mozambique. An online Press Centre offers a range of information and tools for print and broadcast journalists.
Users can check out the latest news on recent issues affecting children in Mozambique, such as the recent floods in the central region of the country. The English and Portuguese versions of the web site are continually updated with new information, photo essays, statistics, publications and reports.
