Responding to the 2008 floods
For the second year in a row, Mozambique has been hit by major flooding in the centre of the country. More than 96,400 people have been evacuated to resettlement centres. UNICEF is supporting health, nutrition, education and child-protection activities.



Children learn photography
For the 18 anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF co-organised with Venice-Arts a workshop in which children learnt how to use photography to capture their reality and express their views.

Providing support in accommodation centres

Delivering emergency supplies

Children paint their dreams for better education
Hundreds of primary school children depicted their dreams for better education last July in a painting workshop organized by the artist Naguib, with the support of UNICEF. Thirty paintings were produced and will be used in UNICEF 2007 calendar.

In 2006, several UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors and celebrities visited UNICEF-supported programmes in Mozambique. Their role and influence is critical to advocate for children and support the mission of UNICEF.
