Joint civil society programme on child rights
Civil society organisations in the area of child rights invited to submit expression of interest
Maputo, 15 September 2006- The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and UNICEF are inviting the submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to participate in the joint civil society programme on child rights in Mozambique.
The proposed joint civil society and child rights programme mirrors the fundamental commitment of both SIDA and UNICEF to a human rights based approach to programming and is the result of ongoing discussions around child rights issues between SIDA and UNICEF. In the course of these discussions, it was found that the two agencies have congruous development objectives and share many of the same partners, therefore it would be beneficial to bring together a wide range of partners working in the area of child rights, with a view to establishing more harmonised and strategic collaboration that will accelerate progress in the area of child rights in Mozambique.
Submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are invited from civil society organisations with extensive experience in the area of child rights and comprehensive knowledge of the development context in Mozambique. The scope of the programme and the requisite format of the EOI are detailed in the attached document.(Please download the English or Portuguese version from the blue box on the right).
EOIs should be submitted to UNICEF by mail (Fundo das Nações Unidas para a Infância, Av. do Zimbabwe n°1440, Maputo, Moçambique) by 16 October, 2006. Notification of decisions about the EOIs will be provided by October 31, 2006.
