MAPUTO, Mozambique, 4 June 2012 - On Saturday June 2, Stewart Sukuma and his band Nkhuvu were joined by a selection of excellent Mozambican musicians for the "Artists for Children's Rights" concert, which was sponsored by UNICEF, Stewart and partners and took place at the Big Brother complex in Xipamanine. The concert was held at the opening of the Quinzena de Crianca, a fortnight focused on children and children's issues that takes place between June 1 and June 16 every year. Several hundred children, including many children with disabilities, spent the day engaged in artistic activities, which included painting, poetry, story telling, theater, music and dance. A day full of creative expression was concluded with an amazing "Child Rights concert", which featured Stewart, Mingas, Neyma, Valdemiro Jose, Elvira Viegas, Ace Nells, Alfa, Arsen, Lena Baule, Sizaquel and others. Several important messages about child rights and responsibilities were shared throughout the concert, which was free for children.
