Activities

UNICEF’s Programme of Cooperation with the Government of Mozambique is based on four priorities - Child Survival, Basic Education with a focus on girls, the fight against HIV/AIDS and Child Protection.

Child survival
UNICEF supports the Government ministries and civil society to strengthen and expand key services child survival -including nutrition and health as well as water and sanitation.

Education
UNICEF works closely with Ministry of Education and other national organisations to ensure that all children in Mozambique have access to quality basic education with a special focus on girls.

HIV/AIDS
UNICEF is working with a wide range of partners aiming to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS and supporting children and adolescents who are infected and affected.

Child Protection
UNICEF is supporting the Government and civil society partners in creating an enabling and protective environment for all children, with a special focus on the most vulnerable.

Humanitarian response
UNICEF works closely with a wide range of partners to maximize its emergency support to children in areas of health, nutrition, water, sanitation, education and protection.

Human Rights Based Approach to Programming
UNICEF's Country Programme is guided by the principles of universal realisation of the rights of children and women. Within this context, was adopted a Human Rights Based Approach to Programming.
