The report highlights UNICEF’s contributions to achieving the Millennium Development Goals in 2010 by advocating and providing assistance towards improving children’s health, achieving justice for children, expanding access to quality education and promoting children’s rights and participation. Highlights of the report include broadened UNICEF’s partnership with the EU in 2010, particularly around justice for children, inclusion of child rights in the EU-Moldova Association agreement, ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, collaboration with the World Bank on social protection and education which has helped leverage resources, shape common advocacy, and focus programming on the most vulnerable children. The report emphasizes how UNICEF is reorienting its programming to more closely target and meet the rights and needs of the most deprived and marginalized children to achieve greater progress with equity.
