Background: The formal ceremony will be held in the intermission of a performance of the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Education Project, with a two-part programme: Songs: ‘Ritual Rhythms’ and Dance: ‘The Rite of Spring’. Under these projects, more than 100 schoolchildren will perform their self composed music under the topic ‘Ritual Rhythms’ and will dance to Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’ as performed by the symphony orchestra under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle.
