NEW YORK, 14 November 2003 - The U.S. Fund for UNICEF and The World of Children will host the first Global Agenda for Kids Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, November 18th from 9:30 AM – Noon.  The morning will provide an open forum with school children to discuss the plight of children around the world and the children’s advocates who are making great strides to impact the lives of children.

This event will feature the announcement of the 2003 World of Children Award winners, who will be present to discuss specifics of their contributions with the school children. The World of Children Award finalists were selected from hundreds of global applicants.  The World of Children’s International Advisory Council, headed by boxing legend Muhammad Ali, a UN Messenger of Peace, chose the finalists.

The two organizations have partnered to help bring attention to the plight of children around the world and the children’s advocates who have significantly impacted the lives and well being of children.  Mrs. Nane Annan, lawyer, painter, children’s book author, and wife of United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, will address the topic as keynote speaker for the morning’s event.  Additionally, open discussions will be held on child advocacy and children around the world.
