Arama Coulibaly, 15, holds her 20-day-old son in her home village of Sebetou. Like many girls in Mali, Arama was married at the age of 14.

Together with its partners, UNICEF supports interventions that aim at reaching more children and women with health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education and protection services that support their survival, growth and development. Creating a supportive environment for mothers and children is key to safeguarding and promoting their rights. UNICEF Mali strives to act in the interest of those at the greatest level of need.
