Power of 10 sens
Students in Malaysia interested in stamping out poverty now have a chance to make a difference through the Universal Peace Federation’s Power of 10 Sens Campaign. Themed “Students Realising Children’s Dreams - Say Bye to Poverty!”, the Campaign provides everyone, particularly youth an affordable opportunity to make a donation in support of children’s future. All it takes is a personal contribution of 10 sens via Campaign donation boxes at schools, universities and locations around the Klang Valley! As part of the Campaign, UNICEF’s Representative to Malaysia, Mr. Youssouf Oomar will visit several universities in the Klang Valley between 12 September – 12 October 2008 to help youth understand the effects of poverty on children and discuss the role young people have in making a positive difference. All donations raised by the Campaign will benefit UNICEF, the International Relief Friendship Foundation and Yayasan Amal Malaysia. The Power of 10 Sens is planned to mark International Day of Eradication of Poverty and the Global Peace Festival 2008.
