Taiping Peace Initiative
Taiping Youth Leadership Training • 8 – 9 August 2009
Faced with the challenge of becoming the peace-builders of the future, 50 youth aged between 15 and 18 from Taiping, Perak, used stories, songs, art and drama to share their perspectives of peace during a Youth Leadership Training jointly organised by UNICEF and the Taiping Peace Initiative. Defending vulnerable children • 17 July 2009
Manchester United stars Ryan Giggs, Patrice Evra and Federico Macheda as well as Manchester United Foundation Chief Executive John Shiels took time out of the club's pre-season tour of Asia to join UNICEF to champion the rights of marginalised children in Malaysia and highlight their increased vulnerability to HIV. Celebrating children's rights • June – December 2009
A free parenting guide published every other month, MyChildMalaysia is running a series of articles anchored on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Each activity-based article focuses on a "right" in the CRC and suggests play activities that can be carried out in class or at home to help children learn about their rights.

Childline Malaysia
19 May 2009 onwards
Childline Malaysia operates in the spirit of the Convention of the Rights of the Child with a special focus on every child’s right to be heard and protected. Planned activities include a national 24/7 emergency toll-free helpline for children in need of care and protection. Read story.

Taylor’s University College
Hear Us Out II • 11 April 2009
The International Canadian Pre-University (ICPU) program at Taylor’s University College organised Hear Us Out II which brought together some 200 students who ranged in age from 18 to 20-something. The Conference comprised a series of exciting workshops and discussions which focused on global concerns by youth and for youth. Read story.

Media Prima Radio Networks
Hot.fm, Fly.fm & One.fm celebrate children • yearlong
Media Prima Radio Networks Malay, English and Mandarin radio stations – Hot.fm, Fly.fm and One.fm – have come aboard to celebrate children and their rights. The popular radio network will produce multi-language public service announcements in June, September and November. Read story.
