Give life to children today …
During the month of December 2008, in tandem with the Christmas season, UNICEF Malaysia launched its first Direct Mail Fundraising Appeal in partnership with Maybank Malaysia Berhad.
In line with this Appeal, 60,000 direct mail packs were sent to Maybank gold card members in the Klang Valley, encouraging individuals to contribute as a one time or monthly pledge donor.
Key Objectives
The key goal of the Direct Mail Appeal is to get the word out about UNICEF’s work here in Malaysia, and encourage people to support UNICEF’s programs in Malaysia through your donations.
Where Will My Contributions Go?
The majority of donations collected through this Appeal goes towards supporting the needs of vulnerable children in Malaysia. However UNICEF in Malaysia does provide funding especially in crisis situations like that of Cyclone Nargis and the current Gaza crises to country’s that are in dire need of our assistance to support the children in those affected countries.

What your Donations Can Do for Children?
- RM 65: provides enough vaccine to protect 38 young children from measles. Everyday 600 children worldwide die from this disease
- RM 150: helps ensure 8 Orang Asli children in Malaysia stay in school, for example by introducing story-telling into classroom teaching
- RM 300: provides educational materials for a class of 28 underprivileged primary school children in remote areas of Malaysia
- RM 500: provides a whole community disrupted by water supply with water pumps to access pure, clean water for 1 whole year
Are my Donations Tax Deductible?
All donations made to UNICEF are tax deductible. We will send you a receipt 6-8 weeks after we receive your donation in order for you to claim for tax exemption.
