UNICEF celebrates World Breastfeeding Week in MalaysiaKUALA LUMPUR, 25 July 2008 - As the world waits to welcome the 2008 Beijing Olympics on 8 August, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) stands firmly in support of mothers in Malaysia who are striving to achieve the gold standard of infant feeding:
UNICEF Malaysia’s World Breastfeeding Week activities are: 1) Radio Campaign: Breastfeeding is Best! Tune in to 95.8 fm (Fly.fm) and 97.6 fm (Hot.fm) to catch the PSAs! 2) Forum on Working Women and Breastfeeding The event is organised by the Breastfeeding Information Bureau (BIB) Malaysia with support from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) and UNICEF. It will be held on Friday, 1 August 2008. The Forum will be chaired by Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Nik Safiah Karim with the following topics and speakers Working Women and Breastfeeding: Breastfeeding and Reproductive Health Challenges of Women and Work Supporting Working Women Media are invited to attend and participate in the Forum.
