Women's support
PROSTANITA Women’s Peer-to-Peer Education A women’s peer-to-peer pilot program was initiated in the state of Kedah in 2006 at low-cost flats in Sungei Petani. Adopting a non-judgemental manner, the program helps women identify ways in which they can actively participate to create a supportive environment for HIV education and counseling in their community, including Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT). Activities are tailored to the interest of women living in these areas, and include cooking and craft making demonstrations, and grooming lessons. HIV and AIDS messages are introduced to the women through these sessions. A phone line was also established in the community to encourage women to seek health related services or to simply provide answers regarding HIV and AIDS. 3R-UNICEF All Women’s Futsal Playoffs In 2007, 3R and UNICEF have expanded the program to cover three states, namely Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The 2007 program for girls is supported by Manchester United FC through it United for UNICEF partnership.
