UNICEF helps save, protect and improve the lives of children in over 150 countries through immunisation, education, health care, nutrition, clean water, and sanitation programs. Through our Direct Mail program, UNICEF encourages members of the public who are interested in supporting our mission to help protect the rights and improve the lives of the world’s children on a monthly or one-off basis. Maybank Malaysia Berhad has supported our efforts to send co-branded direct mail to their bank’s members. Key objectives Where will my contributions go? UNICEF also provides funds to respond to crisis situations like that of Cyclone Nargis and the Gaza conflict. In times of emergencies, donations made through our Direct Mail Appeal are used to reach out to thousands of children ensuring they receive emergency assistance in key areas such as health, water and sanitation, education and child protection. How can I contribute to this Appeal? § Cheque: Please issue crossed cheques payable to “United Nations Children’s Fund”. Behind the cheque, please write your full name, address and contact number.

What can my donations do for children? § RM 100: provides enough vaccine to protect 60 young children from measles. Everyday 600 children worldwide die from this disease.
§ RM 165: helps ensure 9 Orang Asli children in Malaysia stay in school, for example by introducing story-telling into classroom teaching.
§ RM 300: provides educational materials for a class of 28 underprivileged primary school children in remote areas of Malaysia.
§ RM 500: provides a whole community disrupted by water supply with water pumps to access pure, clean water for 1 whole year.
